One Positive Test for COVID-19 at the Minot Police Department

The Minot Police Department participated in a mass testing event for coronavirus focused on front line workers. The event was held on Monday, May 18th and all results were delivered on May 20th.

Although one employee tested positive for coronavirus, there were a total of 49 negative tests. The employee will isolate at home and not return to work until after they have been cleared by First District Health Unit and there is confidence in a safe return.

This is only the second positive test within the department since the pandemic hit North Dakota. The Police Department has a plan in place to ensure the delivery of emergency services in the community. The first part of that plan is keeping the employees safe and free of the virus.

This positive test will not cause a change or disruption in police services to the community.
