Camila Cabello Hits Back At Rumors That Taylor Swift Encouraged Her 5H Exit

Camila Cabello has denied the rumors that Taylor Swift encouraged her to quit Fifth Harmony, as per the pop star's new chat with "The Dan Wootton Interview" podcast, which was released on Thursday (March 15).

While the upcoming "reputation Stadium Tour" opener may be close confidants with Swift, the 21-year-old explained that the decision to embark on her solo career was one that she made alone. "It annoyed me that people said she was encouraging me because I know that she probably got a lot of negative criticism for that. Absolutely nobody could ever persuade me to do something," she explained. "If I don't want to do something the whole world could be telling me and I won't do it."

Cabello explained that her instinct to please other people isn't as strong as folks might assume. "And if I do then the whole world could be telling me to not do it and I'll do it. I've always been that way," she continued. "To be honest with you, she's never ever had anything to do with that. It's so funny, because when Taylor and I talk and whenever we hang out we talk about love and boys."

Vogue Mexico's new cover star recently performed at the 2018 iHeartRadio Music Awards and if you liked what you saw, you can catch her embark on her own for her first solo headlining trek, which is appropriately named after her new single, "Never Be The Same." For the 16-date tour, the former 5H bandmate will hit major cities including Los Angeles, New York, Chicago, Denver, Boston, London, and Toronto. She'll continue on with dates in Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, and Madrid. As previously announced, she'll also join Charli XCX as an opening act for Swift's "reputation Stadium Tour" later this year.
