Carrie Underwood Hilariously Pranks Unsuspecting Shoppers

Carrie Underwood went undercover to surprise serenade a few fans shopping at a boot store in downtown Nashville. The segment was filmed for a new edition of "Undercover Sing" on Jimmy Kimmel Live.

After setting up hidden cameras throughout the shop, Underwood waited in the back as customers stared to come in. Singing to the tune of her hit, "Before He Cheats," Underwood directed her singing to a specific group of shoppers.

"Right now, one lady has purple hair, she's the punk rock one, gonna get some boots now," she sang, as the group of women start looking around nervously. The ladies caught on to the prank when Underwood mentioned their home state of Virginia.

"These girls are coming from Virginia," Underwood sings while making her way out to the shoppers. "Virginia is for lovers, lovers of boots. This lady is laughing because she know that I'm singing 'bout her and her boots."

Underwood's next target was a shopper named John. "John is holding on to his shoes. If he doesn't get boots, he'll have the blues. Take it from me, Carrie Underwood," she sings.

The country singer then asked John to do a dance singing, "If you do a dance for me, you're gonna get those cowboy boots for free. So start moving and shake your derriere."

John's first attempt at dancing wasn't good enough for Underwood as she continued on, "Dance again and don't you stop. In your cute blue sweater top. I promise those boots will be on me." The shopper at that point, let it all go as he waved his hands in the air to dance for the boots.

That's just the beginning! The video goes on to show even more hilariously surprised shoppers. Watch the whole segment below.

Underwood will take her beloved personality and vocal talent to the CMA Awards tonight as she co-hosts the show alongside Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton. The night will start with an all-star performance from some of country music's most iconic female artists including all three hosts.

The 2019 CMA Awards will have a female-centric theme, which as it turns out, Underwood was the driving force behind.

"When we started talking about the CMAs this year, thinking about what theme we might have... I definitely was kind of pushing for a tribute to females in country music," she said in a recent interview.

Underwood is the only woman nominated for Entertainer of the Year up against Garth Brooks, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban. Additionally Underwood is nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Cry Pretty.

Tune in for country music's historically big night broadcasting live from Nashville's Bridgestone Arena on Wednesday, November 13 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
