Benefits Millennial Employees Want

  • Clear growth opportunities. Millennials just don’t want to hear that there is career advancement at the company, they want to see it and know their path for themselves. They want to gain new skills and put them to use. They want to know how to get from Position A to Position B. One way companies can do this? Offering job shadowing opportunities or succession planning for different roles.
  • Financial planning. Millennials have debt, whether it’s rent, student loans, car payments, and so on. A paycheck isn’t enough - they want to be money smart. Offering free financial workshops or paying for a few free sessions for them to work with a financial advisor will help you get your millennial employees to success.
  • Conscious practices. It’s not just work for them – millennials want to make a difference in the world! They care about global causes and social issues and want to work for companies that truly contribute to such causes. Find a purpose and communicate it efficiently.
  • Flexible schedule. We know that whoever created the 9-5 schedule must have been a miserable human. Why do we need to be confined to those hours? Millennials want to contribute and get their work done, but once it’s done, why can’t we just leave or break for a bit? Offering a flexible schedule, unlimited vacation days, etc. are such great incentives.
