The Minot High wrestling team ended a 24-year drought in bring home the state team title in the Class “A” tournament this past February. For that, their head coach Justin Racine has been named the National Wrestling Coaches Association Coach of the Year for North Dakota.
With Racine at the helm, the Magicians had an undefeated dual regular season at 12-0, qualified 14 athletes for the state tournament and had one state champion in Brody Armstrong at 126. Minot also won the West Region regular season championship for the first time since 1996.
Racine had already been named the Class “A” Coach of the Year by the North Dakota High School Activities Association.
