Grabowski Headed to Utah State

A FORMER MINOT NATIVE, WHO HAS SPENT THE LAST SEVEN YEARS AS AN ASSISTANT MEN’S BASKETBALL COACH AT UND, IS MOVING ON. STEVE GRABOWSKI HAS BEEN HIRED AS AN ASSISTANT COACH AT UTAH STATE, JOINING CRAIG SMITH’S STAFF IN LOGAN. THE NEW JOB FOR GRABOWSKI WILL REUNITE HIM WITH SMITH, WHO COACHED HIM IN COLLEGE AT MINOT STATE. GRABOWSKI WAS A STANDOUT PLAYER AT MINOT HIGH, HELPING THE MAGICIANS TO THE 1999 STATE CHAMPIONSHIP BEFORE MOVING ON TO PLAY AT MINOT STATE. AFTER HIS PLAYING DAYS, GRABOWSKI STARTED HIS COACHING CAREER BY JOINING THE BEAVERS COACHING STAFF. GRABOWSKI WAS ONE OF THREE FINALISTS FOR THE UND HEAD JOB THIS SPRING, A JOB THAT EVENTUALLY WENT TO PAUL SATHER.
