Minot State Men's Basketball 2019 Recruiting Class

BEN BOHL, 6-3 GUARD FROM MINOT

Bohl competed in football, basketball and track and field for Bishop Ryan High School. He was a two-time all-state selection in both football and basketball. In basketball, he led the Lions to the state championship game in his junior year. In his senior year, Bohl averaged 24.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists in leading the Lions to a 4th place finish at the state tournament. He was the Class "B" Senior Athlete of the Year in basketball and was the Mr. Basketball runnerup.

DUANE GOODMAN, JR., 6-2 GUARD FROM CHARLOTTE, NC

Goodman Jr. comes to Minot State after playing two seasons at the Green Mountain College in Vermont, where he averaged 11.3 points and 2.5 assists per game. He was named to the all-character and all-tournament team twice and was an all-conference selection in his second season.

MASON HEDBERG, 6-4 GUARD FROM MINOT

Hedberg competed in football, basketball, baseball and track and field at Bishop Ryan High School. He was two-time all-district, all-region and all-state tournament selection in basketball in helping the Lions to back to back state tournaments. In his senior year, Hedberg, who was a second team all-state selection, averaged 20.1 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game. Hedberg also starred on the Bishop Ryan baseball team where he was a two-time all-region selection and was named the Region 6 Senior Player of the Year.

KOBE JACKSON, 6-0 GUARD FROM TASMANIA, AUSTRALIA

Jackson comes to Minot State from Tasmania, Australia and competed in soccer, track and field, cricket, football and basketball at Marist Regional College. He earned the Outstanding Service to School Award while also winning the Academic Excellence Award and Birchalls Scholarship Award.

STEPHANE MANZI, 6-8 FORWARD FROM NYARIMBA, RWANDA

Manzi comes to Minot State after playing two seasons at Laramie County Community College in Laramie, Wyoming. Last year, Manzi averaged 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. Manzi was also a 2017 Idaho state champion and all-star participant while at Genesis Prep Academy. He earned an invitation to represent Rwanda in the NBA/FIBA Basketball Without Borders Camp.

MELVIN NEWBERN, JR., 6-4 GUARD FROM ROBBINSDALE, MINNESOTA

Newbern Jr. comes to Minot State after playing one season at Montana State-Billings. Prior to MSU-Billings, he was a two-time all-conference MVP and NJCAA All-American at North Dakota State College of Science. He competed in football, basketball and baseball at Robbinsdale Cooper High School where he was a three-time all-conference selection in basketball.

DREW PEARSON, 5-10 GUARD FROM MINOT

Pearson comes to Minot State after playing two seasons at Bismarck State College where he averaged 8 points and 2 assists per game while shooting 41% from behind the 3-point line. He averaged 27 points and 4 assists per game in his senior year at Des Lacs-Burlington High School. Pearson was selected ad District 12 and Region 6 Senior Player of the Year and was named to the all-state team in his senior year.
