City reschedules HHW/E-waste collection days for June 2020

The City of Minot has rescheduled its household hazardous waste and electronic waste collection for 2020, according to Sanitation/Landfill Superintendent Josh Kraft.

The spring household hazardous waste and E-waste collection is now planned for June 19-20 at the City of Minot Public Works building, located at 1025 31st St. SE. The event is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

“This has always been a drive-through event, where residents bring hazardous household chemicals, cleaning agents, paints, and other unwanted items they would like to dispose of responsibly to us and we’ll unload it for them,” Kraft said. “This year, with the COVID-19 concerns, we are encouraging those who drive through our facility to remain in their vehicle while our crews unload the items. There’s no need for anyone to get out of their vehicle, so we can maintain proper social distancing.”

Items accepted at the June 19-20 HHW/E-waste collection include paints, oils, solvents, household chemicals, propane tanks, old televisions, computers, printers, and other electronic parts.
