A Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Caleb Mangino, was traveling southbound on Highway 83 approaching the intersection with Highway 23. Toyota Rav4 was traveling westbound on Highway 23. The driver of the Rav4 disregarded the stop sign at Highway 83 and 23 intersection pulling out in front of Mangino. Mangino struck the Rav4 in the passenger side with the front of his vehicle. Both vehicles came to rest in the west ditch.

Mangino had to be extricated from his pickup. Mangino, Jeffries, and the driver of Rav4 were transported to Trinity Hospital by Community Ambulance of Minot. Female passenger of the Rav4 was airlifted to Trinity Hospital in Minot then to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks for life threatening injuries. Names of occupants of the Rav4 will be released pending notification of family. Crash remains under investigation by the Highway Patrol.
