[SHOOTER IN CUSTODY]
A male subject is in custody in Crosby after an 8-hour standoff with authorities. The incident was first reported before dawn this morning when a deputy sheriff from Divide County heard shots coming from a home in the northwest part of the city. Authorities surrounded the home and brought in the SWAT team from Minot to help with the situation.
At about 11 this morning, the shooter surrendered bringing the incident to a peaceful ending. No injuries were reported. The situation prompted the lockdown of both the elementary and high school in Crosby. The lockdown has since been lifted.
More details are expected later from the BCI and the Divide County Sheriff office on the scene.
