On February 11, 2017 at 10:13 PM the Minot Police Department responded to a parking lot in the 500 block of 20th Ave SE (20th Avenue Mall) for a report of gunshots. Upon officer arrival the 41 year old male suspect and 39 year old female victim had left the scene. Officers eventually located the victim and she was transported to Trinity ER for her injuries. It was later learned the male suspect was threatening suicide while holding a gun. The female grabbed the gun and a round was fired striking the female, causing non-life-threatening injuries. The male was eventually taken into custody by Ward County Sheriff’s deputies and transported to the hospital for evaluation. Names are not being released at this time due to the nature of the incident. The investigation continues
