Things to know about the game By Rhett Bollinger / MLB.com
• Santiago is off to a strong start this season, and he has worked to cut down on his walks after leading the American League in that category last year. The lefty, who has struck out 25 and walked 11 in 35 2/3 innings, held the A's to three runs in six innings last time out. Santiago has had success against his former organization, going 4-1 with a 1.40 ERA in six starts.
• Pelfrey, who was released by the Tigers before signing a Minor League deal with the White Sox, has struggled to pitch deep into games, and he hasn't pitched more than 5 1/3 innings in any of his three starts. He has rough numbers against the Twins, posting a 6.88 ERA against them in four starts.
• The Twins are hopeful second baseman Brian Dozier will return to action after missing two games with a mild left ankle sprain. Minnesota will also be without third baseman Miguel Sano, whose one-game suspension was upheld on Tuesday.
