Three things to know about the game By Rhett Bollinger / MLB.com
• After catching all 15 innings on Sunday, Twins catcher Jason Castro was held out of the lineup in the series opener on Monday, but will be back behind the plate on Tuesday. Castro played with the Astros from 2010-16, and was an All-Star in '13. He joined Minnesota on a three-year, $24.5 million deal this offseason.
• Fiers has had success against the Twins, going 3-1 with a 3.16 ERA in seven appearances (six starts). Second baseman Brian Dozier has hit him hard, going 5-for-17 with two homers and a double. Miguel Sano is 1-for-8 against him, but his one hit was a homer.
• Berrios went 6 1/3 innings his last time out, allowing three runs on four hits with seven strikeouts against the Orioles. He gave up three solo homers, but was pitching with the lead. Berrios made two starts against Houston in 2016, going 1-1 with an 8.59 ERA. George Springer went 3-for-4 with a homer against him last year.
