The Garage – A former automotive service center, The Garage strictly catered to youth ages 14 to 20. The garage was located ½ block north of what is now Central Campus. The building was owned by two Minot businessmen. It was a great hangout for high school students. Many were smokers and The Garage did not discourage smoking as long as the cigarettes were not extinguished on the floor. Many students, however, complained that it was too smokey and thought it should not be allowed. On the weekends, The Garage featured dances with the band on a raised platform and psychedelic lighting.
