Today is National Cocoa Day
December 13, 2017
The Bottom Line: December 13th is National Cocoa Day!
The Full Story:
December 13th is National Cocoa Day! Is there really anything better on a cold day than cuddling up in a blanket with a mug of hot cocoa? No! Today we celebrate hot cocoa and the warmth it makes us feel! The cacao tree produces seeds that are then dried and fermented to create cocoa.
If it weren’t for monkeys, we may have never been introduced to cocoa! Humans noticed that monkeys ate the pulp of the cacao plant about 1500 years ago, and then we found how great cocoa can be!
Did you know that there is actually a difference between hot chocolate and hot cocoa? Hot chocolate is made directly from bar chocolate, while hot cocoa is made with rich cocoa powder!
Celebrate with a warm and sweet cup of hot cocoa today!
