When a heavy snowfall threatened to ruin a couple’s wedding plans, the community came together to give them a real white wedding instead. Severe weather left the roads impassable in Benfieldside, England, but after the church made an 11th hour appeal on social media, Rebecca McKenzie and Daniel Hodgson were able to tie the knot as planned.
Around 30 people showed up with snow shovels to clear the path, someone else used a snow plow on his Land Rover, and a tractor helped clear and spread salt. Without the support of all those friends and neighbors, the wedding might not have happened.
“To see people pull together so well is brilliant,” says Reverend Martin Jackson, who officiated the wedding.
