Attempted Homicide in Minot

SUMMARY OF CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING INCIDENT:

On 8/23/2018 at approximately 2128 hrs, officers responded to a SW residence regarding an individual, identified as Travis Yoney, was being detained by the male resident.

Yoney, who was known by the victim, went to the residence, and fired one round from a .22 caliber rifle while outside.

The round struck the exterior of the residence which then penetrated inside the home. 

Yoney forced his way inside the residence and fired a second round at the male victim, missing him. 

At that point, the male victim tackled the suspect and subdued him until officers arrived. 

None of the victims were injured during the incident. 

Yoney was charged with Attempted Homicide, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Violation of Order Prohibiting Contact, Burglary, Terrorizing, Reckless Endangerment, and an outstanding warrant for Failure to Appear. 

Yoney was transported to Ward County Jail.
