The Minot Police Department knows and understands that the 4th of July is a very important holiday where we get together and celebrate with family, friends and neighbors. Fireworks are not permitted anywhere in the City of Minot and could result in a $150 fine. If you'd like to report fireworks, please call our non-emergency number at 701-852-0111. Please be as specific as possible when giving details of the call. Please do not call 911 to report fireworks violations.

The Velva Wildlife Club will be hosting their 3rd annual cook-off for charity event, Saturday July 2nd with 12 teams competing, - head to the club around 2pm, enjoy sampling, and entertainment for everyone, with plenty of shade and parking the Velva Wildlife club hopes to see you at the clubhouse!

The City of Minot is seeking volunteers to fill a temporary vacancy on the City Council until a special election is held in November. At its June 28 meeting, the Council agreed to consider volunteers to fill the opening on a short term basis until a special election is held on Nov. 8 in conjunction with the statewide general election. The Council vacancy was created when alderman Tom Ross was elected Mayor in June. The term of the Council seat formerly held by Ross expires in June 2024. Anyone interested in volunteering to temporarily fill the vacant council position until Nov. 8 should send a letter of interest to the City Clerk by 4 p.m. on July 13

Celebrate the 4th of July - Independence Day at Roosevelt Park, enjoy yard games, food trucks, enjoy yard games, live music and more! This event is free to attend and is happening from noon to 3pm.

First Baptist Church of Minot would like to invite your children and their friends ages 4 years through 5th GRADE to join them at their Monumental Vacation Bible School to be held July 10-14 from 6:00 to 8:30pm. Children will have a great time with the Bible stories, music, games, crafts, and snacks. You can register your child online at First Baptist Church is located at 200 3rd St. SW, Minot, next to the City Auditorium.

Monday July 25th your invited to grab your kite and head to the Minot Optimist Soccer Complex between 5p and 7p to fly your kite! - It's a kite flying party, bring out your kites and enjoy the views! - this event is free to attend.
