Fire damages duplex in northeast Minot on June 23rd

Fire damaged a duplex in northeast Minot on Tuesday (June 23), displacing two residents.

The Minot Fire Department responded to a call at 10:41 a.m. to 710 5 th St NE. When crews arrived on scene, they found fire on the building’s first floor. Crews entered the structure, extinguished the fire, and searched for occupants in both living units. No residents were found inside the structure, although one dog was rescued. Two other pets did not survive the fire.

Minot FD crews continued to check the structure for fire and ventilate the structure. One firefighter was treated for heat exhaustion. Firefighters will remain on the scene overnight to watch for potential flareups. The fire remains under investigation.
