Basement fire damages home in northwest Minot
A basement fire damaged a home in northwest Minot on Monday afternoon.
Minot Fire Department crews were called to 2107 11th Ave. NW around 1:45 p.m. for a fire in the basement. Dispatch received a call from an alert neighbor, who stated that the home had smoke coming from the windows. The neighbor knocked on the door of the home where the fire occurred, but the occupants were not home.
The first Minot Fire Department units that arrived on scene found heavy smoke in all areas of the home and fire coming from basement windows. Fire crews were able to extinguish the fire, and remained on scene overnight to ventilate the structure and check for any remaining hot spots.
No injuries occurred at this incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
