Minot Woman Arrested For Child Neglect & For Giving False Information.

On 07/05/21 at 1747 hours Minot police officers responded to a SW Minot business for a report of a 1-year-old child left in a vehicle unattended. Upon arrival officer confirmed there was a 1-year-old in the vehicle. The vehicle was running but unlocked. The child had been left in the vehicle at this point for 30 minutes.

The registered owner, Loni Carpenter, was showing several warrants for her arrest.

Carpenter came out of the business and lied about her identity and then left the area, leaving her 1 year old behind. Police had Child Protective Services responded to the scene.

After an hour and a half of investigation, Carpenter returned to the scene and was placed under arrest for child neglect (C-Felony), False Information (A-Mis), and the warrants. The child is in the custody of relatives.
