Digital Hoarding, what is it? A type of hoarding that involves collecting and having a hard time parting with excessive amounts of digital material, a growing problem in the U.S. People tend to collect and store more digital content as they use more social media platforms. People including me, and not letting go of all that digital information has some negative mental health consequences. The average American has at least 40 apps on their phone, but uses less than half of them (guilty!) over 1,000 unread emails in their inboxes (12,000 for me) and do I even dare mention that 1,000s of photos? Yep I'm a digital hoarder, put me in therapy!
