A Massachusetts businessman gives away gasoline for the second time this year. Last week, Boston area businessman Ernie Boch Jr gave away $50-thousand worth of free gas at a station in Norwood, Massachusetts. The giveaway started at 8 am, lasted for several hours, and customers were limited to $75.
This is the second time this year that Boch treated folks in his community to a fill-up on his dime. In April he had a similar giveaway at the same location. That giveaway was promoted in advance and caused a huge crowd and long lines of motorists. This time, Boch quietly announced the free gas giveaway on social media that morning and the news was spread by local reporter Sera Congi.
One grateful recipient, Kim Riley, says the gas came at a great time for her. "I have a newborn at home and a toddler,” she explains. “I'm on maternity leave and, you know, could use a little break." Another local who got in on the giveaway, Manolis Christo, was filling up anyway and doesn’t really need the help, so he plans to pay it forward. "I think after today, I got to do something nice and pass it on,” he says. “It’s the right thing to do."
