Camping is one of the most fun things you can do with your friends and family. But one of the drawbacks is that campfire smell that stays on your clothes for weeks to come. I have a few friends who bask in the glory of the lingering campfire smell.
I don't like it. If you feel the same way, here are five tips you should try to get rid of that strong smell:
1. Air out your clothes. Hanging clothes out to dry in a breezy place for a few hours can help a lot. Fresh air and sunshine help break down odor molecules.
2. Wash in warm water. The heat helps open up fabric fibers which releases that campfire smell.
3. Use baking soda. Just add it into your washing machine. Baking soda is one of the best odor neutralizers out there.
4. Try activated charcoal. Seal your stinky clothes into a bag with some charcoal overnight, and let it work its magic.
5. Try lemon juice. Combine lemon juice and water in a spray bottle with a ratio of 1:6. Now spritz your clothes, inside and out. (As a bonus, now you'll smell like Mr. Clean!)
