Minot's Hazardous Waste Days May 5th & 6th

City schedules annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection days The City of Minot will hold its annual Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program on May 5-6 at the Public Works building. The program is only for Minot residents receiving sanitation services. Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. both days, all household hazardous waste not normally collected by Minot sanitation crews may be brought to the Public Works building free of charge. John Reynolds, City of Minot Sanitation Superintendent, said there will be signs set up to direct drivers to the proper entrance into the Public Works building. Household hazardous waste items accepted include paint, stains, varnishes, solvents, oil, pesticides, herbicides, car care products, fire extinguishers, propane bottles, light bulbs, and household cleaning products. E-waste (televisions, computers, etc.) will also be accepted free of charge during the two-day collection program. Reynolds said the City collected approximately 14,000 pounds of e-waste in 2016 during the two-day program, along with about 9,000 pounds of other items. The City of Minot Public Works Building is located at 1025 31st St SE. For additional information or interviews contact the Public Information Office at 701-857-4727 or by email at pio@minotnd.org.
