Media Release May 10, 2017----On the morning Sunday May 7th the Minot Police Department received a call from Pastor Ensley Windham from the Church of the Living God at 2145 8th St. NW reporting vandalism to the exterior of the church.Patrol officers were dispatched to the church and saw that multiple markings of graffiti had been placed on the church. Specifically the building had been marked with swastikas, “KKK” and with anti-black racial epithets. The crime is believed to have occurred sometime in the evening hours of Saturday, May 6th and the early morning hours of Sunday, May 7th.While the Minot Police Department will respond to and investigate all reported crimes, we recognize the unique threat to the peace and safety of the community posed by bias-motivated criminal acts such as in this incident.Anyone with information about this or any crime is encouraged to call the Minot Police Department, 24 hours per day, at 701-852-0111.
