Minot Police Respond To Disorderly Conduct 5/30/18

Officers responded to a report of several people who appeared to be getting ready to fight at 106 18th St. SE at 9:02 PM. The reporting party relayed information to dispatch that one subject, later identified as 20 year old Tiwayne McClain, put what appeared to be a gun in a vehicle on scene.  McClain gave the officers permission to search the vehicle and a gun was located during that search.  McClain ran from the area and was arrested about three blocks away. McClain was arrested for Failure to Halt (B-Mis) and for Felon in Possession of a Firearm (C-Fel) and taken to Ward County Jail.  When Officers returned to the address contact was made with 32 year old Christopher Sullivan as he was exiting the residence. Sullivan was arrested on a Ward County Warrant and taken to the Ward County Jail.  Then, while officers were leaving the area they saw two people slump down in a car while an officer drove by. The officer made contact with the two subjects to determine if they had anything to do with the altercation. During the contact, police identified 32 year old Darnell Burton and a juvenile female.  It was determined they were not involved with the altercation, but the officer could smell a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle and could see the marijuana inside the car.  A search of the vehicle was conducted which, in addition to the marijuana, a firearm was also located.  Burton was arrested for Poss. of Marijuana (B-Mis), Poss. ofMarijuana Paraphernalia (B-Mis), Possession of a Concealed Weapon (B-Mis), and Contributing to the Deliquency of a Minor (A-Mis) and taken to Ward County Jail. The juvenile was arrested and issued Juvenile Referrals for Possession of Marijuana and Poss. of Marijuana Paraphernalia and released to her mother.
