Trinity Security Team Wrestles With Burglar

On July 18, 2018 at 12:55 AM, police responded to an alarm call at Key Care Pharmacy. When officers arrived, they witnessed Trinity security fighting with a male suspect inside. Before officers could make entry into the building, the suspect fled further into the building. The security officer was transported to Trinity Emergency Room where he was treated for his injuries. Officers set up a perimeter and Minot Police Department SWAT Team was called to assist as it was believed the male may be armed.Prior to SWAT arrival, a male was witnessed exiting near a parking lot, located to the west of 400 E. Burdick. The male was ordered to stop by officers and fled on foot through the trees. The male was later apprehended and identified as 20 year old Trek Bender of Minot. Bender was transported to the Emergency Room for treatment of his injuries. Bender was treated and taken to the Ward County Jail and he was charged with Burglary, Robbery, Possession of Stolen Property, Wearing of Masks During the Commission of Criminal Offense, Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana Paraphernalia, and Refusal to Halt.
